Ambohitsara-Kianjavato

Ambohitsara-Kianjavato, a highland community rooted in agricultural livelihoods and strong social cohesion, reflects the enduring challenges and opportunities of rural development. In collaboration with a local primary school and through community-based identification efforts, the Anjiro Initiative is expanding access to quality education for children who face intersecting barriers related to geography, gender, and income.

This program exemplifies community-led progress toward Sustainable Development Goals, particularly SDG 4 (Quality Education) and SDG 5 (Gender Equality). Families play an active role in the scholarship process, reinforcing local ownership and long-term sustainability. By alleviating the financial burden of schooling, the initiative helps ensure that children—especially girls—can enroll, attend, and thrive in school.

With continued support, we aim to deepen our impact in rural Madagascar and equip the next generation with the tools to shape a more equitable and resilient future.
