SAHAMADIO
In Sahamadio, a rural commune in Madagascar’s Amoron’i Mania region, families rely heavily on farming and lumber production, cultivating crops like rice, cassava, corn, and root vegetables. Despite a strong cultural commitment to education, reflected in the Fandrina District’s logo featuring a pencil, angady (Malagasy farm tool), and crocodile, economic barriers often prevent children from accessing schooling due to costs for supplies, fees, or transportation.
Since 2025, Anjiro Initiative has partnered with the Sahamadio community to launch a scholarship program supporting the 730 students at CEG Sahamadio, a primary school with 30 dedicated teachers. Co-designed with local educators and community-based volunteers, the program alleviates financial burdens by covering tuition and essential supplies. Transparent sign-up events and a community-led selection process ensure equitable access, building on Sahamadio’s legacy of educational commitment to empower its students.
Every contribution, no matter the size, makes a tangible difference in Sahamadio.
